Might finally be selling my car. Plan is to get the 96-98 cobra. Anyways, I have no clue how much a decent shop is gonna charge me to P&P the heads and intake. I'm thinking that will be a nice base for a reasonable cam and a nice little turbo on top . Anyone who has had this done or knows what a typical shop is gonna charge chime in. Trying to see how much I will have to spend on the car itself and still have enough for all the parts afterwards. Thanks, Bryan

If you are going to go with a turbo I would probably leave the stock cams in place for now. Turbos are pretty sensitive to cylinder pressure, IIRC, and a big set of cams with lots of overlap are not what make a good turbo motor. If anything, something like an FR500 setup or just some Mach 1 cams might be what you want.

As for P&P, I don't know what to say about the heads. You can buy various level of reworked intakes from $700 upwards of $1200. I personally plan to try to do my own one of these days for free. Check out http://home.flash.net/~ivc1/cobra/stang.html for some great 96-98 Cobra info.

if i remember correctly, the 96-98 4V heads flow freakishly high (like 300cfm)but have poor velocity. so porting would not be needed with them.

how much HP are you looking to make?

around 500rwhp, planning on keeping the turbo below 10psi if possible, shouldn't be too hard with lt's, and decent cams, dont know if its worth doing in the first place, think with a goal of 500 I should even worry about it?
