could car run any worse??!!!!! why wont run properly

Ive just finished my mass air conversion, after realizing my SD car did not like the new motor too much with the GT40p heads, intake and E cam. Before the mass air the car would not run pass 3k rpms and bad idle. Now with the MAF system it fires up every time, but the idle is still not steady and around 1100 rpms. now it revs up to 5-6 but still has some popping issues (sounds like its choking). thats not moving, when i drive it, it seems to be even worse (a dog). what could it be? The maf sensor is from a 93 GT and so is the computer.
Ive tried screwing with the timing all day, New plugs, wires, ignition module, cap, rotor, distributor,
Any ideas?

1.) Make sure you removed & capped the vacuum line going to the MAP/BARO sensor on the firewall by the vacuum tree. On Mass Air cars, the MAP/BARO sensor vents to open air.

2.) Clean the MAF element. The MAF element is secured by 2 screws & has 1 wiring connector. To clean the element, remove it from the MAF housing and spray it down with electronic parts cleaner or non-inflammable brake parts cleaner (same stuff in a bigger can and cheaper too).

3.) Dump the codes and see what the computer says is wrong…

Here's the link to dump the computer codes with only a jumper wire or paper clip and the check engine light, or test light or voltmeter. I’ve used it for years, and it works great.

IF your car is an 88 stang, you'll have to use the test lamp or voltmeter method. There is no functional check engine light on the 88's except possibly the Cali Mass Air cars.

Codes have different answers if the engine is running from the answers that it has when the engine isn't running. It helps a lot to know if you had the engine running when you ran the test.

Trouble codes are either 2 digit or 3 digit, there are no cars that use both 2 digit codes and 3 digit codes.

1. yup made sure cap is removed
2.Maf sensor came out of a perfectly good running car.
3. havnt tried yet, may take me a while to learn a lil more about it,

- anything maybe simple that i could have overlooked?
