Could EGR and other emmissions being disconnected cause bad motor?

This is what I was told. I have too much stuff "hanging" off my motor for them to even look at it. EGR is pluged, Smog pump and everything emmission related is gone. Brand new motor. Blows oil in 8, has 70 compression in 7. Everything else is 145 acrost the board. HOW THE HELL does this have anything to do with two cylinders being messed up? 350 miles on this brand new motor and its messed up!

those wouldnt cause the motor to be bad. the compression being low is because of bad rings.

There are several thousand modified and unmodified vehicles on the road and track without emissions equipment. I haven't had emissions on my engine for quite some time and it burns nice and clean. ECU5.0 is correct. You may have yourself a poorly built engine and I'd be looking to have it redone correctly. If this is a street engine that hasn't been abused in the past 350 miles, then you've got yourself a pretty good case. If you've had it on the track and been beating on it, then it is possible that it may have been damaged before the rings could seat properly. Either way, it is very difficult to persuade the builder to redo the engine without some professional legal help.

no kidding, his buddy he had me take it to was going to do a leak down test and all the goodies... I get a call back saying there are too many vacume lines plugged and my egr is disconnected that they were not even going to mess with it. WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH A LEAK DOWN TEST. what does this have to do with me blowing oil in #8 and 70 compression in #7????

If you have no compression then maybe you blew a headgasket. Any symptoms of that? I think your compression should be around 170ish.

Are you using the thread in type compression gauge? (if not you should be)
