If indeed a stock Cobra MAF is calibrated for 24lb injectors (which I think my research indicated it is), can I use it with my 24 pounders on my GT?

I've never heard of anyone doing this, but could it work?

To reiterate, all 94-95 5.0 Mustangs use the same MAF - the electronics, metal tube and plastic housing. It's calibrated for 19lbs/hr, and the Cobra computer adjusts for the difference internally. I'm using a Cobra MAF on my GT right now with stock injectors without problems.

You got good info on this thread. The GT, Cobra and V6 94-95's all use the same MAF since Ford doesn't 'calibrate' meters because Ford writes the actual transfer curve and tune into the EEC.

To do what you kinda want to do, you'd need the Cobra EEC to have the 24's work right (we dont recommend doing this - that was a theoretical statement).

If you wanna read a bit about it all, search threads started by Final5-0.
Grady once started a very detailed thread to help folks with misconceptions about meters and so-called calibrations.

Good luck.

As JT said

Ford does not calibrate ANY of their meters for a certain sice injector

Its the aftermarket meter manufactures that started that whole meter
to injector size calibration concept.

Here are a few brief thoughts to help one conceptualize

Meters are all about air flow ... NOT ... injector size :Word:

Lets use our beloved 94-95 year model Stangs as an example or
point of illustration

Ford built a meter that could handle the airflow of a GT Stang

Ford then built a Cobra Stang with larger heads and a few more
go fast parts which produced more horsepower

Of course ... more hp produces more airflow and more airflow
necessitates the need of more fuel

Here is the simple part of the whole GT/Cobra meter/injector thing

The meter ... which is EXACTALLY the same meter on both GT & Cobra

That meter is capable of handeling the additional airflow of the Cobra

The tiny 19# injectors are not

The jest of it is ... Ford did a bit of re-programming in the Cobra pcm by
changing the size of injector from 19 to 24

Now ... I've already told more than I know about it
but
Maybe that can help somebody out there in Stang Land
