How have you been tuning the car?

Maybe you ought to take control of the tune yourself.

Having total control of fuel & spark is a good thing and even more so with a forced induction combo.

Grady- LOL I think thats what the problem was, I tuned it.... Back in the day a local shop did it and a week later I blew a headgasket. Then I bought the tweecer adn did a few things I found on here and I picked up like 3 mph in the quarter. Unfortunatly im so busy with work and stuff I didnt have much time to play with it or install the widebadn I bought. About a week or 2 before I tore the engine down I installed the wideband. Once I get this back together im gonna run like 17* total timing until Jpwd40(WhiteStallion i think is his name on here, the tranny problem guy) helps me a little with some tuning. Boss96 on the tweecer forums also lives not to far from me but I will be leaving for collge soon so I dont know if I can meet up for him for help in time.

On a side note I just found out my freind has a 87 shortblock with new rings and bearings that hes not using. Those pistons are forged right? Anything different with our shortblocks compared to an 87 other then the pistons?

I was thinking you had a Tweecer.

It is great you also got a WB.

When you get it back together just remember this for the first tune..........

BIG fuel ....................... LITTLE spark :rlaugh:

I think the 86 Fox had forged, flat top pistons, but not sure about the 87. I bet you could post over on the regular forum and you'd get a quick answer if you don't get one here.

Hang in there, it will all get better.
