Hey - I need some new black, lighted sunvisors for my convertible. Only problem is that I can't find any on Ebay or elsewhere specifically for convertibles. The coupe ones are pretty easy to find, so I was wondering if anyone had tried to use a coupe visor in a convertible?

Does a lighted coupe sunvisor fit into a convertible???

HELP!

Thanks for the link - they're asking $100 per visor if I'm reading it right! That's crazy. :(

I went by an interior shop here in town and they seemed to think it could be possible to work the visor off the arm and replace it with one from a couple.

I may see if I can find some cheap ones off of eBay and take one for the team and see if I can make it work.

Anyone else have any ideas?

No they wont fit, looks fairly difficult to make them fit, the visors are not made to be taken apart. There is cardboard and glue on the inside :D

What I'm wondering is if the whole visor can be slid off the metal rod it pivots on. The interior guy seemed to think it would come off after yanking on the passenger side one. I'm freaking curious. I may end up destroying what is left of one of them this weekend just to find out.

there are some screws that hold the assembly to the part that goes across the top of the windshield. i don't think it is meant to come apart ...

I HAVE DONE THIS MODIFICATION!!!!

WANT A PIC? let me know and i'll go take one... PM, email, or maybe i'll see the thread

you cannot remove the metal rod, i tried it and ruined the old one... good thing it was already tore up

The only problem with this mod is that it requires some tweaking. you have to splice wires to get the lights to work and for the screws, they don't line up either. Mine are only attatched w/ one screw and i had to cut a lot of the material off to get it to fit

Ok, i decided to procrastinate, go wash my car and take some pics... i'm behind

i've had these on for many months and use them all the time. I think the originals have 2 screws each in them, this one i only rigged up w/ one

*Flash Sucks* they look good, and if you can get some for relatively cheap compared to vert ones, go for it

HA, you don't even want to know... grease and felt everywhere

It pops off a little, them i'm like screw it, and yanked the f*er off... i knew at that point there was absolutely NO way it was going back on

the bar has flat spots on it, so it's like metal flaps are inside the visor and at the close position they are tight around that point. Well, those sprung down and i couldn't even get the original one back on

You know, If you were a good welder, you might be able to hack it off and put it on the stock mount

If you do go w/ these things, the splicing is pretty simple, but if you got a question go ahead and pm me
