hi!! Im going drag racing in 2 weeks and just have a couple questions, here is everything I have done to the car: 14.2 @ 93 mph last yr just gears and slicks basically this yr i have all these things done to it plus the nitrous, just curious how deep into the 12s i can make it:

-Edelbrock Performer 5.0 Intake
-BBK 70mm throttle body and egr spacer
-C&L 76mm maf sensor
-Walbro 255lph high flow fuel pump
-Ford Racing King Cobra clutch
-Ford Racing heavy duty upper control arms and bbk lowers
-373 gears
-Flex-a-lite fan
-BBK 1 5/8" Long tube headers with 2.5" h pipe and super 40 dumps
-Holley adj fp regulator
-Cold Fusion Nitrous Wet Kit adjustable to 175hp
-Solid motor mounts and poly tranny mount
-Mac diff girdle, subframe connectors
-Comp cams double roller riming chain
-High flow water pump
-Underdrive pulleys(stock alternator pulley used)
-BBK adjustable clutch cable w/ firewall adjuster
-AC/Smog pump delete
-MSD tfi blaster coil and frpp 9mm plug wires
-High torque mini starter
-BBK cold air intake(fenderwell)
-et drag slicks 26 x 8.5 x 15

im set up pretty nice to run a 100 shot maybe more, what plugs should I be using and what gap size? I herd 1 step colder plug but i need some part #s and what gap??

also im just wonderin if i should be buying some 90/10 drag shocks and remove front sway bar or not to bother, i wanna buy a few other things to try and pick up the car a couple more tenths, alum driveshaft?

I have a few chevy guys i hafta go faster than this yr so i know if i run a high 11 or low 12 ill have a pretty good chance of beating em.

any input welcomed
thanks adam

Did you do anything to the heads? If not, that is going to be the part that kills you. With nothing done to the heads, the TB and intake aren't going to do too much. I have a similar setup, but I have home ported heads....basically I just gasket matched and cleaned up the runners, and an e-cam and rockers. So I would say I have slightly more HP, maybe 15. So using my combo as a guide, I would say you should see mid 13s on motor and mid 12s with a 100 shot.

Again, that is a complete shot in the dark. It really all depends on how your specific setup reacts to those bolt-ons and how well you drive.

I would run it a few times on motor just to get an idea, then figure a 100 shot should take off roughly a second...depending on how well you hook.

Good luck and be careful.

yeah thats wut im thinkin, with the mods i did to the car it feels much quicker than it did with nothing done, ive herd changing the intake tb maf will see little gains but going from 14.2 to 13.5 on the motor is pretty decent id say

Oh hell yea. My first day out my final run was 13.2 @ 102. I wanted to see my current setup break into the 12s...so I tried a lot of tricks trying to get those extra few tenths. Finally with an e-fan and bumping my timing an extra 2* I hit 13.1 @ 103. It felt so good to get that extra tenth after countless runs of 13.2. Anytime you shave time you should feel good about your accomplishment.

It's a great feeling when you go from one second to the other, 14s to 13s, 13s to 12s, ect ect. That really gets you pumping when you break into the next bracket.

The slicks are a little small. why only 8.5 inch's wide? why not 10's or 10.5's.

i dunno they fit the stock turbine rims well so they'll hafta do again for this yr, they hooked amazing last year tho with the lower control arms for this yr im hoping for 1.7 or 1.8s but yeah i need to know which plugs to run and what to gap them at i ran stock ones gapped at .050 and with a 100 shot on the street everything seemed to b working good but i just wanna maximize my horsepower to get the best et possible with what I have.
