Couple of Questions

So, i finally got to re-do my intake swap. First thing i noticed was my PCV system sucking outside air. then i noticed my plenum gasket was broke down and sucking air. then i noticed my intake gasket on the passenger side came unseated at some point(im gonna guess upon reinstallation of the new intake). On top of all that my #4 injector nozzle was cracked. I can't belive my car ran at all...i drove it for almost a year like this.... I had purchased new intake, plenum, and EGR gaskets, gasket material for the gaskets i couldn't buy, Injector O-rings, and vac tubeing for the reinstall. I wasn't about to spend 60 bucks on a BWD injector($80 for OE Motorcraft/bosch), so i ******ed one of the Densos off my 95 intake and put it in the place of the messed up one. Car runs fantastic! smooth as silk and i have all my power back. But, will that diff injector hurt my EEC or cause problems somewhere else? I plan on finding a junkyard injector to suffice till i go up in lb, but i wanna make sure im ok with the denso unit till then. Next, Could my leaking PCV line have caused my PCV valve to stay open and suck oil into the intake? cause there was a bunch of oil in my intake, and intake ports. Can i eliminate my PCV and just stick a breather cap in its place, or should i fabricate some kind of catch can? cause i don't really like the idea of engine oil in the air/fuel side of my engine. The last question i have is, can i use Red top 30lb injectors out of a T-bird SC and get a MAF calibrated for 30's? cause i found 8 i had collected from my SC venture a couple years back. ok, im done....any help would be great! and thanks in advance!

Not sure about the MAF, but as far as i know you should be fine with the 30# injectors off the thunderbird. I know for a fact people swap them on their 5.0's all the time...

You need to adjust the injector size in the PCM via a tune, that is where they are calibrated, you don't adjust the MAF. You can't just drop in 30# ers and run, you need a tune. Which by the way, unless you are maxing out your current injectors duty cycle, 30# injectors will provide no benefit to you.

As long as the borrowed injector is the same flow rate, 19# as your stock injectors, you should be fine.

Just put in a water/particle catch for an air hose in your PCV line to the plenum. You can get them at Home Depot and Lows. Just empty the oil every oil change. Thats what I do.
