so my pilot bearing breaks 2 pullers...I decided to just grind it out. This works fine except for I now have 2 notches around where the bearing was(end of crankshaft) I have my bearing in the freezer 2 make it easy 4 install tommorow but im wondering if it will sit right??? also how much is it to make a key if you dont have a key to copy from

The crank got cut? Uh oh.

I had a new set of keys made for a car (only came with the valet key). I brought the locksmith the master lock (pass door lock - the locksmith provided that info to me. This was on another car and is not right for your stang).

Then he made me a couple keys and charged me 20 bucks. Cool with me!

anyone know what to do about the small notches

Assuming they're not huge notches i'd just hand sand or file any high spots down. Sometimes pulling pilot bearings turn into a nightmare. I wouldn't worry though

yea when I pulled my pilot bearing, I took out a small chisel and just slowly knocked it apart. I had a feeling it wouldnt want to come out......what kind of pullers were you using?

autozone pullers i think it was called power craft or something?? i just hope the bearing sits right

also what is the best technique for putting them in

next time you remove one use a snap on, or mac remover. never had a problem with one. as far as the gouges go, just hope they are not deep, but dont sand them down, or you will be in worse shape. you can use high temp jb weld in them after you clean the area with brake parts cleaner.
