It's loud!
I'm gonna go in and explain to the judge how I've been working on it all summer, and just got it running again, and was test driving it, and hadn't gotten around to doing the exhaust yet. I'm going in today. Wish me luck.

I'm gonna go in my work uniform so they see that I am a mechanic, and my story about working on it and test driving it will be more readily believed (even though it's the truth, since when do they believe a punk kid?).
Oh yea, I was reading over my papers today, and they said that there has to be sufficient proof to prove that my car was too loud. Well the cop didn't take a decibel reading or anything, so where's his proof? His word against mine! And if I have stock exhaust on there, then how is the judge gonna think it's too loud?

Ignorance is not a way to escape punishment.
Driving without an exhaust is illegal as well.
I would just say it isn't that loud, and ask him what decibel he registered you at. He will probably not have an answer.
