Excessive noise ticket. I was romping through the gears and he heard me take off, jumped in his car and caught up (if I had known he was coming I would have burned that mutha's ass). One stupid ticket, and it's $560!! I'm going to court for this mess, that's total crap.

EDIT: somebody messed with my title.......

i would ask for a decibel meter reading as to how he new it was too loud the fine for that in music in brunswick where i live is 450.00 but if a church is ringing a bell its the same thing the way our ordinance is written if ur talking too loud u could be ticketed its such bull!@#$ but if ur persuasive enough it will be droped. maybe

Thats a good idea....if there is no proof of how loud the car was...then who is to say it was "too loud". Kinda like if they have no way of measuring your speed(unless you are seriously hauling ass) they need to either follow you or us a radar.

Anywho, take it to court. Cant get any worse than it already is right?

MAC 1 5/8" shorty headers
MAC o/r h-pipe
MAC 2.5" flowtubes
SLP's dumped

It's loud!

I'm gonna go in and explain to the judge how I've been working on it all summer, and just got it running again, and was test driving it, and hadn't gotten around to doing the exhaust yet. I'm going in today. Wish me luck.

I had to plead not guilty to get to talk to a judge. I have a court date for March 23rd, so that will give me plenty of time to put some stock exhaust back on, lol. I'm gonna go in my work uniform so they see that I am a mechanic, and my story about working on it and test driving it will be more readily believed (even though it's the truth, since when do they believe a punk kid?).

Oh yea, I was reading over my papers today, and they said that there has to be sufficient proof to prove that my car was too loud. Well the cop didn't take a decibel reading or anything, so where's his proof? His word against mine! And if I have stock exhaust on there, then how is the judge gonna think it's too loud?

Yea except dumps are illegal, so I'm not gonna let them get me for anything. Besides, I'm switching to a MAC catback pretty soon anyway.

I wouldn't tell them you didn't have an exhaust yet.

Ignorance is not a way to escape punishment.

Driving without an exhaust is illegal as well.

I would just say it isn't that loud, and ask him what decibel he registered you at. He will probably not have an answer.

I would just do like suggested and claim a couple bolts came loose during the test drive.
