anyone have one? does it plug the outside vent on the cowl up so water cant get in? wouldnt that prevent fresh ait getting in/the heater blower motor from not working too well as well as create temp. controlling issues with the heater?
its a clear lexan cover with a foam seal and spring loaded retainers.the only fresh air you would get is the air already in the cowl.Your heater works off of the heat from the coolant in the heater core.
Assuming that you only drive your car in fair weather, the issue of getting fresh air shouldn't be a problem; the cowl cover is easily removeable. Just unfasten the four retaining pins and take the cover off when you want to cruise and then reattach it when you are done. You will get the same amount of fresh air as you ever had but you can still have the option to protect your car from rain.
I think it is worth pointing out that this is no cure for cowl rot, it is merely like putting a band aid over a cancerous sore. Rust never sleeps wet or dry so if you don't at least plan to bite the bullet at some point in the near future and fix it right, it will spread out of control eventually. FWIW.
