I have a 1991 Mustang coupe that I'm going to purchase a cowl hood for at the end of the week. My factory hood is damage and I'm doing this for looks (no clearance issues). I've narrowed it down to three hoods:

1. Cervini 2.5" cowl
2. Cervini 1.5" cowl
3. Kaenen 2" cowl

Please post pics or any experience you've had with these hoods. Thanks.

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

I would say Kaenen since its a steel hood and you wouldn't have to worry about pins or stress cracks, but honestly I would just get a clean stock hood.

I agree, the fiberglass hoods are a pain. I have one and don't trust the latch hood pins are a must.

I pick #4. Cowl hoods are best left to the cars they come with from the factory.
Camaro's, Chevelle's, and Vette's.

I have no experience with a cowl hood since mine is the original and I've never needed to replace or modify, I do like the look of 2" cowl and I would go with the steel one if I ever needed to replace mine.

never been a fan of the plain cowl hoods on a mustang.. I like the ram air ones but that is totally a personal preference.

If we're going just for looks why not the heat extractor hood?
