Any of you fox guys and gals ever find cracks in the A-piller's of your 87-93 stangs? At the top of the windsheild, about an inch down from the top? My daily driver 88'4cyl hatch has a pretty good size crack in it. Does this happen alot? Need more info, might be able to get a pic if needed. Thanks

A pic would help, I don't have any cracks in mine, but it's a vert so there is virtually no stress in my A-pillars.

hah, one of my foxes had the paint cracked in that area. Can't remember which one it was. Usually comes from hard launches at the track. Previous owner of your 4 cyl. must have been running that baby at the track with slicks.

Should I be worried about it? I'll see if I can get Eric to post a pic of it. I was gonna do a V-8 conversion in about a year, now I don't know...

I already told you, that crack wasn't in the a-pillar...it was in you

I think the idea you and I discussed last night was the best one

Ya, I agree on that too Eric, but what about the nugget? I'd like to have a little more power in a daily driver...

That's where the roof is welded on at the factory. Stress cracking from something...

Dave,

I think you missed the part where he said he was talking about his 4Cyl...pretty sure it hasn't ever had any spray on it.

Yeah E' I caught that part, I was just having fun at Nates expense.... ahybody who sprays till the doors wont close good deserves it.

On the "more power" for the 4cyl tip, there used to be this outfit called svo....

In my book anybody that sprays till the doors won't close right deserves to have someone buy him a beer.

There used to be this other outfit kinda like that, it was called SVT....

Seriously though, about 25lbs of boost on a svo or TC engine would be sick.

I would tell anybody who has a stang (79-06) to put sub frame's on thier car asap, don't wait like I did. The car in question is a 88' hatch with a 4cyl 5 speed, and documented 125K on it. I don't know why it cracked, but I think it'll be ok. I looked over hanky, but found little starts to the same prob. Kind of crazy that the V-8 car that I've beat on for years has very tiny cracks if at all, and the 4cyl daily crap box has a large crack.

On the side note of SVT, its not actually dead per Ford, but severely scaled back. Just got that news yesterday. http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/04/13/fords-svt-not-dead-after-all/

As for the 25 lbs in an SVO, I have experienced just that, weeks before he blew it. Amazing ride though. I have not seen the need to shift through gears that fast in my life. It was more than impressive.

Typical corporate thinking... lets take one of our only divisions that is operating in the black, and get rid of it. (scaled back, whatever) Yeah thats a good idea.

A-Men to that, just restently GM sold off the only division that has made money in the last 10 year (their finacing dept), how does that make sense.

I used to have a 88 TurboCoupe. I loved it. I could run 25 lbs of boost on race gas. never tried it on super, was too scared of the detonation. I scored more street kills in that car than any one I have ever known. Especially whitetrash fireturds. The big problem with those cars is you can't keep a clutch or transmission. If the slicks went on, the trans came out.

I think that was the fatal move that sent the block in a 360 motion, he was only using premium... Either way, 25 lbs of boost always feels nice
