Well i talked to buddy rawls awhile back and the comp 270hr magnum is the cam he recommended me. i was looking around and found the crane 2030 and the specs are like exactley the same besides the lsa. can anyone tell me what the difference would be in these cams. by numbers the crane has a very small bit more aggressivness on the intake lobe and the comp is more agressive on the exhaust lobe as far as ramp rates but that is minimal but the difference is only a couple of degrees. Im gettin a cam as a gift and need to decide as soon as possible. here are the specs...

Comp 270hr
adv. - 270/276
.050 - 215/220
lift - .533/.544
lsa - 114

Crane 2030
adv - 270/278
.050 - 216/220
lift - .533/.544
lsa - 112

will i be ok running this much lift? i was told by the rep at crane this is the most lift i could get away with but i have read that all engines are different and some might have problems. what would i have to do if i experience p/v problems. also would this cam make more or less power than the crower 15511 with my combo? thanks for all those who reply

I don't know what your combo is, don't see a sig at all???? However, I would go with the 270HR. Buddy Rawls knows what he is doing, and I am sure that cam would work well with your combo if he says it would. The only way I would possibly go against it, is if I were to call Crane and one of there technicians tells me to run the 2030. I think I would still stick with Buddy though.

well that time it worked, yeah i was thinking of going with buddys advise also but when i look at the cams they are tons alike and i can get everything the cam springs locks and retainers from crane for the price of just the cam from comp cams, thats why i was wondering the difference.

Its a tough call since its not my car, but as someone who likes the best bang for the buck, I would get the Crane+extras. Also, how does your Crower compare to the cams you want?
