When I got my turbo engine for my swap, I was initially going to keep the auto tranny that I had. The motor was from a manual so I had to remove the pilot bearing. Prob was that I didn't have a puller so I used a die grinder. Yeah, I know what you're thinking. I did end up taking off a little of the crank.
Now my friend has an '89 N/A that he's getting rid of and it has a T-5. So my question is, would his crank work in my motor? Should I get the old one repaired? Or should I find a different turbo crank?

hmmm...the cranks are the same ...5 speed and auto alike. i believe the differnces lie from the flywheel back. I've used a die grinder to remove a pilot bearing, they are press fit so unless you really did a number , the new one should still fit snug.
