My freind has a 87 mustang with 5 speed stick. It has excessive thrust bearing wear on 1 side of the thrust bearing. It appeared to be assembled correctly. The transmission
does not have the correct crossmember for the trans. The ureathane bearings in the upper and lower control arms are SHOT. Is it possible that excessive shock from the driveline
is causing the driveline to pound things forward putting excessive load on the driveline and wearing on the crank shaft thrust bearing? Everything else appears to be correct

I've heard excessively heavy clutch diaphragm springs can cause thrust bearing wear. When the clutch pedal is pushed in, you're putting forward pressure on the crankshaft and thrust bearing.
