CRAP! I just broke a bolt off in the Water Pump, What do i do?

Well my Water Pump and Thermostat Housing Were leaking pretty bad, and its the stock water pump and 135K so i figured id better just replace, i got A chrome one from Summit but anyways, i broke actually two bolts trying to get the stocker off. The the top center one and the one directly to the left of it. Man those bolts are shot. How do i go about getting those old busted bolts out, i know i have to drill em out, but i dont wanna screw up the threads that the bolts go into. Is there a special drill or drill bit i have to use??

get a small bit and drill a hole in the center of the bolt.....using a tap and die set, create new threads inside the bolt.

now get the right size bolt to go into the new threads, using some thread lock (super heavy duty) screw in the small bolt and wait til it dries....then carefully unscrew both bolts at the same time....hopefully this works for you.

i snapped a head off my timing chain cover they are weak and britial. you can do one of two things use a dremel and make a slit in the top of the bolt that broke off spray the $hit outta it with some PB blaster and use a elec drill or screw driver and take it out. Or you can use a cresent wrench and clamp down on it and twist. but the first one should do the trick I hope you understand.

if there is enough sticking out the screw driver way is the easiest but if not ^^^^ that is the way your gonna have to do it how much thread is available?

Or you could drill it out to close to the size of the orginal bolt, and tap it and hope that the thin piece of the bolt that is stuck gets chewed up by the tap, that might not work, lol, or drill a small hole in it and use an Easy Out, Sears has these but they don't always work that well. If all else fails, drill it bigger and tap it, then use a bigger bolt.

Well i talked to some guys today about what i should do, and im just gonna drill those suckers out, and put chrome nuts on the end of the bolts. The ones that are broke off are the top ones so they dont connect to the timing chain cover. Does autozone carry chrome nuts, or will i have to go to Summit or something
