Crash Testing My 2015

Well this really sucks.... My 2015 which was ordered 5/20/17 and built 8/27/14 is officially destroyed!
My car was ordered to my specifications as a dealer stock unit. It was one of the first 1,000 cars produced and is no longer...
They selected my car as a factory crash test car. They built it and then crashed it. WtF! They are building a replacement car that will be issued a new Vin number and will be ready in 2-3 weeks. As far as I know they still haven't shipped a single car other than promotional cars so it shouldn't be a huge set back but disappointing to say the least.
I am waiting to hear back from the dealer as to whether or not they can get pictures of my destroyed car...

I appreciate your help as I am more than frustrated and maybe even disappointed to a degree. Any insight that you can provide to me would be very much appreciated! Thank you again for all of your help, I anxiously await your reply.

I have heard of cars being pulled off the assembly line for quality control checks, but not for crash testing. That's unfortunate . it would have been cool to have a serial # under 1000.

I've heard of vehicles being pulled off the line due to defects in the build. Rather than fix the issue, they may be crushed. Perhaps it was flawed during its build and instead of crushing it, they tossed it against a wall.

Either way that sucks having to wait. The anticipation will make it all the more better when you get it. And a discount would be awesome as well.. wouldn't hold my breathe for that though.

The orig. build number was 545 to be exact... Oh well. The replacement car is a priority 1 and should be built and delivered hopefully in a few weeks.
@FordCustSrvc has been great staying in touch with all of the updated info!

This really needs a home....

Glad to hear customer service has been "pleasurable" so far. That often gets over looked in alot of todays companies, major and minor.

If by discount you mean msrp sticker then yes... Lol

Once I get info on the reassigned Vin I will know the build number.

Salt in the wound was another local dealer getting a 2015 on the lot yesterday... It was a sad day for me lol

Can any pressure be applied there Deysha? Another sub 1000 car to replace the one that they broke would be awesome! They're all probably ear-marked for people other than Mustang enthusiasts.

Hey Noobz347,

I have not received any confirmation stating we are doing this at the plant. I have received clarification when we start building vehicles, we install a window sticker that says “not for sale” and include no pricing information. This is because final pricing has not been set, the emissions/fuel economy data is not complete, and the safety information is not present. The window label will be replaced when the car goes to shipping with the full label.

Man I haven't posted in months and only logged back in to check the status of your '15 (been eying one myself) and I'm extremely disappointed.

I get crash testing, I get potential quality control etc. but I would be ticked.
You don't do that with a built to order, customer specific, first 1000 built car that someone dropped a big chunk of change on to begin with. Total bad move on fords part.

Absolutely no reason they couldn't have smashed one that had no destination.

The only thing that would make this remotely ok is if the car didn't pass QC and could not easily be fixed (paint issue, drive train issue, electical issue???) and the next logical thing would be to destroy the car rather than sell it sub par. I am expecting a new vin number this week and I will keep everyone posted
