Hey guys, I just bought my 02 and there's something weird going on with it. I was driving on the freeway and it didn't seem as though i was driving as fast as my spedo said i was. Last night I had my girlfriend pace me while we were on the phone. She said she was going 60. My Speedo said i was going 75. She accelerated to 70 and my speedo said i was going 90. So when she was at 60 i was 15 mph over and when she went to 70, i was 20 mph over. I dont' know what's goin on here. The only think i can think of is, i wonder if there are aftermarket gears in there. What do you guys think?

Hehe, sounds like you got yourself some gears. 3.73 or 4.10. Go out and drive 80 and if your RPMs are 2900-3000 then you have 4.10s. If they read a bit lower then you have 3.73's.

Ok... so say i have aftermarket gears in there. What can i do to calibrate the speedo to be correct? Is there some sort of speedo gear i can swap? if so, where can i get it and for about how much should i expect to pay?

Thanks in advance,

Eric

If i am not mistaken you can get a speedomoter recalibration box from Steeda or any performance place like that, that will fix it right up...I think Steeda has a chip also that will fix it. But it's only for five speeds. Im not sure about autos.

hmmmm.. i was thinking about the Diablo Sport Predator. I read on a vendor's site that it could calibrate my speedo. What do you guys think about that unit? Is it worth the money?

for those of you with 3.73 or 4.10's, what's your gas mileage like? I've never driven a V8 sports car, but damn.. i only got a little over 200 miles on 3/4ths a tank of gas.

maybe its the gears- in my 04 Ive got 600 miles (sigh) and Ive refilled at a 1/4 tank twice, Ive got about 1/4 tank right now. . .

so Ive got 200 miles on 3/4 tank. . . and Ive been giving rides

Edit: ROFL I just re-read your post. . . nevermind. . .

that is what i did when i put my gear in....the only thing is you can't only change the gear. You can change it at the same time you put the tune in.
For me i didn't realy notice hp inprovement but the car is working good all the time. Before it was like one good days and one bad days.

you can get a speed cal to it's a bit cheaper..
