crossmember -AUTO SAME AS MANUAL?

im in the process of switching my auto car to 5spd and im just wondering if i can use the uto crossmember or if i have to change it.also is the 4cyl t5 have the same crossmember as either?

The crossmembers are not quite the same, but I've heard numerous people say the auto one will work for the manual conversion. The crossmember for the 4 cylinder T-5 and the 8's I would think would be the same for ease of tooling and stuff, but I'm not 100% sure. Just make sure it's a double hump so it will clear the dual exhaust and you should be good.

The crossmembers are the same, just welded in a different spot. To use your AOD crossmember, grind off the spot welds where the bushing tubes are attached to the crossmember, adjust it accordingly and reweld.

I helped a friend do the same as described above. The 4cyl crossmember will only have "one hump" for the single exhaust to clear. You need a "double hump" V8 crossmember so just do as described above and reuse your original.

Oops! I missed the 4 cylinder part. Yep, you need a V8 one, but any V8 one will work.
