Hey there just asking, would increasing the cubic inch in my 306 gain me any HP? Say use a Bigger stroke 3.500 (instead of the 3.000) that should place it at 357. Is that realy going to gain me any HP?

Thanks Guys

Yes....although without further suporting components like better cylinder heads, intake and further exhaust mods...and then fuel and tuning mods to tie it altogether, all you're going to do is shoot the torque output up through the roof, earlier in the power band.

Well keeping in mind that i have RPM Performer Heads a Blower Comp Cam and a Procharger. With that in mind what do you think about the increasement of the Cubic Inch?

Again...big power. The more you increase the capability of the engine (supporting components) to utilize the additional airflow, the more benefit that an added jump in displacement is going to be to you. I'm assuming you've got a better than stock intake on there as well? If not, get one. The stock intake would already be the "bottle neck" in your combination and trying to force even more air through it as the result of a displacement bump is going to make it even more so.

It’s tough to give you hard numbers just based on listing your selected parts, but it’s safe to say with no other changes, a bump in displacement, combined with a more suitable intake (again, assuming you haven't already got one) would be worth an honest 50-70rwhp and like amounts of torque over what you're making now. Not to mention your boost figures will drop in the process because of the added volume you have to work with.....which depending on your set up should also reduce unwanted charge temperatures some and increase efficiency.

Dodge really had it right back in the 70’s with the slogan “There’s no replacement, for displacement!”

Cubic inches

There are four ways to add raw horsepower:
More cubic inches
More RPM's
Power adders: Turbo's and Supercharges
Type of fuel: NOX and others
Of course the engine system needs to be balanced to be the most efficient.
