Hey all,
Here are some pics of my custom gauge bezels for my 66, what do you think?
It is brushed aluminum. I really like the JME's but couldn't part with the dough

Please excuse the rest of the interior, it is quite dirty. I was in the middle of a bunch of projects including wiring under the dash for line lock and nitrous and cd changer.
What do you guys think? Kinda Retro I thought. Looks new, but yet old somehow.

Sorry for the larger pics...

Sorry for the large pics, I had no idea they would post that big!

As for the dash, I took a repo 65-66 GT bezel, ($30.00) and pealed off the woodgrain sticker. I also bought a used (but in good condition 66 GT glovebox door. I pealed off the original woodgrain sheeting on the glovebox door (what a pain as it was some really glued on aluminum stuff, not a sticker.
As for the aluminum, I bought the pieces from KANTER performance. The cost about $70 for all the pieces. I then epoxied them onto the bezel and glovebox door.

the pieces did not fit perfectly and required some filing. I had more of a problem with the gauge bezel's fitment than the glovebox, probably because the gauge bezel was some crappy Chinese repop. Anyway after getting the fittment right I just epoxied them in place.

For the lighting, that is STOCK gauge lighting believe it or not. What oyu have to do is take the black metal frame (inside the gauge bezel) and spray paint it with some chrome paint (pep boys stuff) and put it on really thick. When you put it all back together it really reflects the light a lot better. And the white faced gauge overlays bounce the light back better also.

I have had the white faced overlays for quite a long time now, however I can say just by painting the inner bezel chrome made a world of difference in the lighting of them. It also gives the old gauges a cool inner ring look like the autometers (you can see it if you look closesly at the pictures.) Normally the edge of the gauge itself inside the bezel is black, making the gauge seem deeper inside somehow, but with it chrome, it makes it stand out more.

I wanted the JME look, but didn't want to part with the cash. I am thinking of getting a Shelby gauge pod and putting some white faced gauges and aluminum in their as well.

As for my custom switch panel, the right toggle is to arm the line-lock circuit, (don't want any accidental trips) and the corresponding LEDs, are for armed and active. The left toggle is for the soon to be installed nitrous. LEd for armed, and button for purge. I was doing a bunch of rewiring and decided to wire in the switches while I had everything apart.

Thanks for the feedback!
