Has anybody cut thier drag launch springs to lower their car some? I'm getting ready to install some and comparing to my lowering spring they are alot taller, I don't think I'm going to like the way the car sits with them on it. Any input is appreciated, thanks
The drag springs are a much softer rate than your lowering springs so the will compress a lot more...I would not advise cutting them, it would kinda defeat their purpose...be warned the drag springs can be a b**ch to get in ( I went coilover).
We put the Eibach drag springs in my pals and it didn't change the stance much. But if you are lowered and go to the drags you will notice a huge difference. Some guys cut the springs a bit but that defeats the purpose of buying them. They are design to work and transfer weight as a full spring, not a cut to length spring. And the front springs are a major pita. You have to compress the crap out of them.
Yea I was told I could cut up to 1 coil off if I wanted to. I installed the rear springs today, and on 17 cobra r's it looks stupid, as for the front I need to get my buddy's spring compresser, they are really long, I can only imagine it will look after they are installed. Why does it "defeat" the purpose of putting the springs on if you cut them? Seems to me it you cut the exact same off of each spring you still have drag launch spring rate, but your car doesn't look like it as a 6" lift under it right?

It may still work "ok" but not the way it should, could or the way they were meant to. By heating or cutting the spring you are changing the spring characteristics, preload and weight transfer. Ask Eibach they will tell you the same thing.
