heres my problem, if i get on my car, or rev it, the car will start to hesitate at around 4000 or so. the car doesnt chug or bounce, its just once the rpms hit 4000 it doesnt sweep thru clean, it hesitates as it reaches there and car looses power. now i think my timing way to advanced still could this be the problem? and my fuel pump sounds to me liek its a littel louder than usual, could this be another problem? i would just retard the timing but im right up against my radiator hose and cant go any further and i thought i was at about 10-11 so i would rather avoid oulling it and dropping it back in. thanks for any help

fuel filter clogged? fuel pump could be going out, cuz it cant keep the pressure up. if the timeings to far advanced it will ping like no other when u give it major gas, at least thats what mine did, it never just cut out.

stick a pressure gauge on and see how your pressure is when revving higher up. if low, it could be the FP, filter, other restriction, regulator, etc.
any codes?
see if the TPS has a dead spot.

good luck.

fuel filter :notnice: no difference. i guess if its the fuel pump itll have to stay like that alll summer caus ei doing a new motor this winter and im not gonna wate time. i just wanted it as a cruiser this summer anyway. maybe its timing, we'll find out saturday cause the way i threw my dist. back in and set it was alllll LUCK.

one question: if i throw a 255 HP fuel pump in it now on a somewhat stock motor, will the injectors and stuff regulate the flow? or get a AFPR and itll be ok? caus ei am gonna need a 255 for the new motor and figures i could do it now.

i say you will be fine with the 255, the fuel pump just presses the fuel to the fuel pressure regulator, after that the regulator is what allows the fuel to go to the injectors.
