obviously, a plasma cutter, but those get to be expensive, and not many people have buddies that heve em. You can use a pneumatic jigsaw, an electric jigsaw, a saw zaw, or a pneumatic cut off tool. I have listed them in order of easiest to pain in the butt to use

Agreed the plasma is by far the best butt i used the pneumatic cut off tool and it was not that bad.

and get a good spot weld cutter you are going to need it.

I used a nibbler on mine. Just drew a line where I wanted to go and started in a rust hole.. lol.

I still had to use hand shears and an air chisel to get the details out but it wasn't too bad.

That was leaving in the tunnel and just cutting out the floors.

My buddy who is helping me with the body work has a plasma cutter actually.

Pneumatic cut-off tool. You can't get the same precision with the others(except plasma). The cut-off wheel gives you a nice clean line to measure from for butt welding. If you aren't butt welding then you can just hack it with whatever, it doesn't matter. +2 on the good spot weld removing bits, you will need them.

I have done a lot of floor/frame rail replacement, and I would say the plasma cutter is the worst tool to use. The problem is, for a plasma cutter to work you need a good electrical connection, or ground. Since you are cutting out rust, there is not a good connection for the plasma cutter to work. A cut-off tool, and a torch is what seems to work best. I have used many brands of spot weld cutters, and they really don't hold up, I often rely on a good quality drill bit set.

Agreed... I have a plasma and that is the last thing i would use to for floorpans.

I would use a nibbler if you could... then a jigsaw...then a radiac with a cutoff wheel or grinder with cutoff wheel. They are pretty simple to use but sparks suck.

So when cuttingthe floor....are there any parts of the floor i should keep for support?

I saw in a site someone posted it looked like the guy kept the area underneath the seat supports.
