Cylinder head dowel pins

I must've run into the biggest bunch of dill holes that have ever answered a telephone...

Summit (who sold me the shortblock)-Nope we don't stock those (after a 5 minute discussion---very simple ,dowel pins that go into the engine block to locate the cylinder head)

Local Ford Dealer-"is that a DOHC engine"????? :bang: :bang: :bang: I said 3...oh....2. What year car? It's a service replacement shortblock for an 87-93 Mustang, but the date stamp on it says 1999...."Um, we don't stock those. Where'd you get the engine?" Summit. "Never heard of them, but I'd call them and tell them they should send you the rest of your engine"....If I had a full engine, I wouldn't need the dowel pins....and buy the way, this thing was assembled by F-O-R-D.

Local machine shop that does 90% of my work that I should have called 1st. Yeah, I've got some, we'll have them here for you. :) sent the wife to go get 'em since it's for her car .:D

I've left out the conversations w/ Murray's and Pep Boys, they are just too painful to bear repeating.
