With keeping my 94-95 upper either stock, or maybe having Tmoss port the lower, assing the TFS1 cam what kinds of power can I expect with the following combos (with the proper tune of course)

Combo 1: Stock shortblock, 94-95 cobra, free flow exhaust (where I am now).

Combo 2: Stock shortblock, 94-95 cobra, TFS1 cam, stock heads with new valve springs for the bigger cam.

Combo 3: Same as combo 2 but with home ported heads (cleaned up a bit).

Combo 4: Stock shortblock, 94-95 cobra, TFS1, Thumper heads

Combo 5: Stock shortblock, 94-95 cobra, TFS1, aftermarket Aluminum heads

Thanks... Just trying to benchrace to see what level I ultimately want to take the N/A motor to... At this point I have no plans on supercharging and I want a solid 13 second car... that is still a daily driver...

Seems to me if your goal is only 13.99
Intake work and that cam would not be needed

All you're looking for is half of a second :)

Working with things to get a 60' down to around 1.80
That would do the bulk of stuff needed to obtain that goal

Of course ... while methods like that will drop et :nice:

Those methods do not make any power so driving around
on the street will not be all that impressive :notnice:

btw ... what do you 60' now?

I'm a bit confused
Your sig shows a Cobra intake ... why hose around with the stocker

I put up a bunch of oem combos about a week ago :)

Did you see any of those

True. I was looking at those combo's.

Sorry I updated the combo 1 to be where I am today.

My best 60' time was a 2.127. With a 2.157 on the 14.562 run.

I am looking for a 13.8 or lower.

I guess what I am trying to do is balance my limited budget and desire to keep this a street car with very little track time to run these numbers. So slicks and/or greatly improving that 60' is pretty much out of my reach. I plan to go to the track about once a year.

My main variable here is how much potential is there in stock heads with a new cam, stock heads with a little bit of port/clean-up work, thumper heads, vs aftermarket heads...

So I plan to cam it I am jsut wondering where the different head options will put me.

I see what you are saying Chris :D

Looks like you wanna make more power :nice:

While the focus of those oem combos I put up last week is based upon
rwhp and not strip times, I think they will give you some ideas of what
can be accomplished with budget oem stuff.

I'm going down the budget OEM route at the moment with my home ported E7TE's, home ported lower intake, and stock cam with full external bolt-ons (CAI, 76mm MAF, 75mm TB, upper intake opening ported to match TB, MAC LT's, modified H-pipe, straight-thru mufflers, ASP crank pulley, EGR/smog delete). The MAC LT's aren't bolted on yet so the 14.70 @ 97.7 is without them. I have 3.73's, aluminium driveshaft, and Transgo shift kit but my tires spin too easily on the line and I lose time.
With the LT's in place, I will have completed my phase 1 performance mods and I'm hoping my Stang will trap 100 next time. With better traction, it could even do high 13's. The problem for me is that drag radials wouldn't be street legal so what else can I do to improve traction?

FWIW- I ran a combo of unported gt40 iron heads (a little less than ported e7's done right would be), TFS1 cam, ported stock gt lower (figure a little less than the gt40 but more trq.).

That combo ran a 13.5 at 102 with a 2.4-ish 60ft (my best is a low 1.9 on the same street tires). It was the first and only time that combo ran at the track.
