i seen a few things in the search but they lean to the 351w and i think this set of heads are 302 because of the smaller head bolt size. long and short are they worth messing with or are they just a plain old set of 1970 heads? they have what looked to be a CP stamped under the valve cover but no sign yet of a cubic inch like my other sets of sbf heads have. (it was dark and they are dirty so maybe i missed it)

ive got a set of do0e heads for my 302 they don't have CP on them. they just say the engine size and they also have engine size on the bottom. i had a set of e7 heads that said CP on them but thats a newer modle head.

yeah i was told they are e7's but i am going to take them to work today and throw them in the parts washer and see what i can get from them. they were dirt cheap anyways, i got them, efi dizzy, oil pan w/ pickup, oem efi intake w/ rail, injectors, tb,ect for $30

ok, i cleaned them and seen its a d8oe, i should have know better because they are pedastal mount heads. so same question but new year, they seem to have around 1.80 intake and 1.50 exhaust valves.
i have a few sets of heads, so here is the to the piont question what should i use?
here is what i have
D8OE
E8TE
C6OE
D1OE
some heads from a 1988 gt (i have not picked up the long block yet but its waiting on me to get)
and some edelbrocks but they are for my 67

Nice pick-up for $30, what type of set-up are you planning on running with one of those sets of heads. If it's for that 92 Mustang Gt project, I personally would go to a junkyard and pick up a set of GT-40Ps heads off of a Explorer. They flow petty good and are easy to find. Here is an article that explains it better.

thanks black1987 for all the links, they are a good idea but im going to build a high performance motor for the 92 and it most likley will have aftermarket heads but till then i want to throw something together from what i have to get it on the road and have some fun while i save for the parts. im going to use the long block i talked about above as the base for my later on build because it comes with a edelbrock efi intake and its a oem roller block unlike the 1988 flat tappet motor im going to use for now. im not looking for big hp numbers just as good as i can get from what i have for now.

Well, when you put it that perspective I would probably go with the C6OE. If they are stock the chamber are around 53cc-54cc, which would bump the compression up somewhere in between 9:5 to 9:7ish. So, it would give a little pep in your step. Though they are not the best flowing heads, they perfrom fairly well. What did the 1988 flat tappet cam engine come out of?

it came from a 1988 e250 van. i was going to use the 66 heads on my 67 so i have already ported them a little and they are loaded with all unused crane springs locks and retainers for a .498 lift cam i was going to run. i just did not get new valve's and seats and it always made me wonder if they would last long so i put them away and got the eddys for my other motor.
