Daiblo Sport - What to Tune ??

I have the following mods to my car. What do I need to set the other stuff to (Timing, Fuel/Air, etc..)

BBK Pulleys
C&L Performance Plenum
BBK 75 MM Throttle Body
C&L True Flow Pipe
K&N Air Filter
.410's FRPP
BBK O/R X-Pipe
Flomaster 40 Series Mufflers
Subframe Connectors
Mac Performance Upper & Lower Control Arms
Nitto Drag Radials
Diablo Sport Predator

I have already changed the gear ratio and turned off the O2 Sensors and the Traction Control. I am dumfounded about changing the Timing or Spark Advance at low & high RPM's as well as the Fuel/Air at low & high RPM's. Any help would be greatly appreciated. What do I need to do ?????

i have the timing maxed out on mine in both ranges, getting dyno and tune in a few weeks so ill post results after.

I had Radical Racing in atco tune my car with the diablo. You are probably running very lean with the new plenum and tb.
I would increase the fuel to -13 (rich) in the 2k to 4k range and then -20.50 (rich) in the 4k to 7k range.

My first pull on the dyno my A/F was 14.9 ... and the hp was 230. After he adjusted the fuel and RETARDED the spark to 4 degrees advance ( I had it maxed out too) I was at 253 hp and 298 tq. The A/F ratio was 12.9.

Just my .02 cents.

What MAF are you running? your sig just says 85mm MAF. If it is an aftermarket MAF that is most likely why you were running lean. Not the throttle body and plenum.

To the original poster, Do Not mess with the fuel unless you have a way to measure it via a wideband. Otherwise you are just shooting in the dark. It is possible to dial in a MAF using the LAMBSE and KAMRF reading from datalogs to adjust the injector slopes, but this is a long tedious process, and I am not sure if the predator gives you enough control over the parameters to do it.

So what exactly do i need to do. Advance or retard the timing??? I assume I should just leave the fuel mixture alone.

One other thing that I have is the C&L Mass Air Flow. It took my stock meter on top of it. It came with the True Flow Kit that I bought.

Hmm, those C&L meters are known for running lean. I would really suggest putting the stock meter back on or getting a dyno tune to dial it in. as far as timing bump it up some if you start to here pinging back it off.

The C&L CAI with the 88mm MAF housing on mine made my car run very lean at WOT on the factory tune. A custom Predator tune addressed that very well and got the A/F ratio down to 12.8 to 13.0. the only way you will know where you are at is with a dyno session and/or installation of a wideband O2 monitor.

Thanks for the info. I will take the car to a Predator Tuner and have him Tune it for me.

As for the Timing, I will advance it until I hear pinging and then back it off a degree or so. (Sound Good????)

As for the Fuel, I can tell my car is running lean, just by the way my exhaust smells. I have no cats and it didnt smell that bad before I got the Diablo.

Guess I will let the Pro's handle the fuel thing for me.

hey guys, i just bought a predator (was going to go xcal but chg'd my mind) and its on the way. just curious but what is a wideband 02 sensor? i assume it has to do with the 02 sensors and helps you log your data. but where do you get one? how much do they cost? how does it help you? where does it go on the car? etc etc ... not trying to sound dumb, but i never really needed to ask until now...

A wideband o2 is used to monitor your a/f ratio. Narrow band o2's come stock in the car and only measure lean or rich of 14.7:1, so it can't tell you if you are at 13:1 or 10:1. A wideband is essential if you are tuning fuel settings. I use a PLX M300 and replace one of my rear o2's with it. It gives my a digital readout which I mounted on top of my steering column so that I can watch it while watching the tach. If it goes too lean I know to get out off the gas quickly. That's about what my wideband O2 datalogger cost. A gauge was extra. In my case the setup came with a dedicated O2 sensor for that required a threaded bung to be welded onto the H-pipe ahead of the cats. The datalogging "box" and all connectors fit in the console compartment, and I mounted the gauge in one side of a dual-gauge autometer pod that replaces the instrument console bezel.
