i need 315/35/17 for my rear wheels

this is my daily driver and my race car.....

which brand do you suggest by experience

Nitto 555R drag radials

or

BFG Comp T/a drag radials ????

which hook better on and off the track

and do you know where to order either the cheapest ??

thanks for the help

By far the BFGs will hook better on and off the track but with that softer compound comes less tire life, likely 3k-7k miles, whereas the Nittos will give you a bit better bite than a regular street radial but not quite as good as the BFGs but probably twice the tire life of the BFGs. I've had 315 BFGs on my car for a while now and have driven on a 1k mile road trip with them in the rain at times and never had a problem. Have about 3k miles on them with plenty of tread left.

www.tirerack.com is where I got mine.

I have 315/35-17 BFG DR's for the track right now. VERY sticky tires; when you heat them up, you can put your hand on them and feel it stick as you peel your hand off.

They won't last long, but while they do, it's awesome.

BTW - There was a C5 Corvette automatic there with 275 BFG DR's on the stock rim, and he pulled 1.6's and even a 1.5x I believe.

As the guys above said, the Nittos will last longer and give more bit than a street tire, where as the BFG's will stick better but will have a shorter life.

Personally, I recommend buying a spare set of wheels and putting a set of Drag radials or slicks on them and only bolt them on when you go to the track.

Go to www.discounttire.com and see how cheap you can get them each for there.

 I *think* it was washed before I snapped those pics. But I know it hasn't been polished or waxed for MONTHS. :nonono:

It looks pretty good not to be polished. My car has a bunch of rock chips back there cause these VDOT idiots out here constantly throw down gravel every winter with the road salt.
