It seems that most of the builds I am seeing these days lean towards show quality cars. When I started my rebuild which I guess will always be an ongoing process I never took into account the impact certain mods would have on daily driving. The car became something that looked and sounded amazing but left driveability to be desired. Over the last year I've been taking steps to correct that and I'm honestly looking forward to daily commute again. 2017 will be the year I start depending on the old girl to make reliable trips wherever I choose to take her. Does anyone here still daily their fox?

Well, while daily is a relative term, I drive my 89 gt when I run to the store, the 'shop' or anyplace else rather than just jump in the 11 focus that is available to me as far as cars are concerned. But keep in mind that my fox is not heavily modified, been there done that, there are a few requirements,
It has to be able to maneuver and pass in traffic
I don't want 'pretty' anymore, I get an attitude when it comes to people, most are ignorant, and don't care about your 5k paint job
Reliability, anything I do will have that in mind
And of course, fun to drive

Pretty is relative here. I consider my car a future daily driver..As in, I'll drive it wherever and whenever I want.

That said...I know that it is radical comparatively speaking,....(Like 400 lb open spring pressure, super noisy valvetrain, pain in the ass mechanical shifter,...ride height not condusive to pulling into an up-sloping driveway,
kinda radical)

But it does have a heater, it does have an A/C system......and it has a really loud little Japanese kid sitting in the back doing his damnedest to drown all of that other noise out.

Ohhhh No!,...There goes Tokyo,.....go go Godzilla!

Its what I say everyday,...people,..(myself included) build these heathen combinations that wear on the driver's tolerance like metal on metal.

I will de-Monster this car in the interest of keeping it fun. (Just let it stab me in the eye one more time) 300/300 is my power goal. Anything else above that is sacrifice-able in the name of driving enjoyment.

That's why I'm gonna get a stated value rider from my regular ins company. I think next week I may try to take the thing to the DMV for it's inspection, and registration. I'll need ins first.

It was too easy to throw the checkbook at the internet and put together a machine that took all of my favorite builds and guys opinions that it "drives fine". That's a highly subjective term. Sure it drove fine in a straight line or to the end of the street. At the end of it all I had lost sight of what I loved. Actually driving my car.

I bought mine as a daily. Then I made the mistake of buying a "responsible" car and now I'm looking for another mustang now.

I drive mine to work at least once a week. 40 miles round trip. 400ftlbs of torque and a 5 speed makes it very fun. but I worked on the tune until it started on the first try, idled like stock (ish), got good MPG. just added cats to the car to quite it down and the smell. next on the list is new seats.
