So I get my car 5 days ago and I said to my mom when we were picking up the car let's not put the front plate on right now cause we have to drill holes in the new car! But "No we have to it's the law, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!" Fastforward 5 days and what does the government announce no more ****ING FRONT PLATES!!!!!! **** **** ****!!!!! THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, that totally sucks you had to drill holes in your car.. That's why I didn't put my front plate on.

I TOTALLY know how you feel. Except that I've been driving around since October with no front plate because I couldn't bring myself to drill holes into my new car.

So, now I guess I won't have to worry whenever I pass a cop on the road anymore.. I was just waiting for the day when I look back and there the lights are.

Man I'm in the exact same boat. My front clip was repainted like 2 days before Majestics, just a few weeks ago. I was going to get them to take off the huge ugly plate bracket on the front and fill the holes......but noooo it's the law and I'll get tickets if I don't have a plate on the front. So they put the bracket back on....lo and behold, 2 weeks later, I find out we don't need front plates anymore.

At least I have personalized plates, so it's not that bad, but it still pisses me off.

So now I'm gonna have to get it repainted or something. I'm not gonna have two damn holes in my car. Which sucks cause now I won't have all original paint. Or I guess I could get a Ford Racing plate on the front or something. What do you guys think I should do? Repaint the front of a car that's 5 days old or get a Ford Racing plate?

Believe me I wanted to not put it on but my mom was all like you have to, no choice, blah blah!! But she's said she'll pay to have it repainted! So that's awesome for me! But I guess if Mach 1 is right and it's not approved yet we might not have anythig worry about.

Out of curiosity, did bennet install your gears? How much did they cost for the install?

Ya, they did install them. It was 200 something for the gears and then the labour was 500 I think. Now I have to buy a chip to correct my speedo!!! They thought they might be able to change the computer but no! So that sucked. Talk to Steve at Bennett he'll hook you up with all the info.

And with the poll if people could post why they think I should do one or the other or something different that'd be awesome! As of right now I'm probably gonna repaint it.

I think you should put blue neon LED's in the hole.. Or use the holes to mount some big ass fogs..

Seriously though, I would fill it and paint it. Or maybe get a Cobra R bumper or something to that effect..

Hmm, did they do them properly? I mean, do they whine at all?

Also, how was bennet for service? I was going to buy that '03 Sonic Blue GT they had in stock last fall, but they found out my engine was done in my trade in and didn't want to give me much for it...

There is no whine at all in the gears, they even used synthetic fluid when they put it all back together! They did an awesome job with that and all the mods. In terms of sales my sales guy, he was awesome! I would totally recommend buying a car from there. That's the second Mustang we bought there, the first was the 99 V6, great service then too.

My only issue with repainting is that it won't be factory paint anymore. I mean I guess that's probably not the worst thing ever. I'll have it done at Bennett, then it's Ford paint and everything, I've had work done there before and they do an excellent job. According to the paper though the change doesn't take effect until August so I've got awhile to figure things out.

Wow, you got raped on the install. Mine were 100. By the time you add a chip or a reflash you are looking at a grand for gears.

newsflash ... factory ford paint sucks ... you will get way better paint at a good autobody place.

Well I had to have it done at the dealership to not void my factory warranty. So I think that was worth the money. I mean if there is a problem later down the line and it costs me even $500 then it was worth it. So I'm sure I could have got a better price but warranty is key.

But if I had part of the car painted partly with some good quality awesome paint and then the rest of car is factory paint wouldn't that kind of suck? Cause it would look different?

its not in the paint its the application... any bodyshop worth any money will be able to max to factory finish .. even oxidization.

ummm you did void your warranty. It doesnt matter that the parts were installed by Ford. In fact if they are FRPP gears, you are even out more luck because there is no warranty on any FRPP product.
