Exactly.

Healy ford was clearing out 03 Cobras for $44,000 or $48,000 for a convertible.

We got the car for $32700 plus tax and plus all my mods. Since it was 0% financing and they were totally cool with putting that stuff in the financing it all worked out. Don't forget that you can get cars cheaper in Alberta than in Saskatchewan. And the service manager himself said that as long as I had the gears installed there it was 100% cool for warranty purposes. With the Cobra rims and Nitto's that was almost $3000. Here's how it all numbers came out approx.:

32700+3200=35900*1.14=$40926

All the mods in my signature were done at the time of sale. So if none of that stuff was done after tax the would have been $37000. I wanted to get all this stuff done and it's way harder to pay for it out of pocket so why not build into the financing and pay for that way?

So there was no ripping off! I guess when I talk about the price really I should say for my $32700 car then! Invoice on the car was $28700 and the regular price was $34525. So make about 10% profit on the car and we got it for about 5% profit. So I think that was pretty good. I mean if we would have waited until September when there were no new Mustangs around a) we could have gotten a lower price, b) probably not gotten the exact car we wanted.

What those Cobra's for $48000, you add tax on that and you get $54720. That's like $15000 difference. That's an extra $312/month and you probably can't get it with 0% financing. There's no way I could afford that, the GT with all the mods was stretching it.

ummm you did void your warranty. It doesnt matter that the parts were installed by Ford. In fact if they are FRPP gears, you are even out more luck because there is no warranty on any FRPP product.

Just so you know, the dealer can only legally void your warranty if they can prove the modifications caused the problem, and even then only that particular problem will be refused. Oh they can still reuse to do it, but if you ever decided to sue they would lose in court, assuming of course you can prove your point. But, by the time you paid the lawyer it would be cheaper just to pay to have it repaired.

Oh yeah, about the holes. Home depot sells little stainless steel plug for filling holes in woodwork. Buy two, paint them body colour, and stick them in the holes. You'll probably never notice them.

Nope not a vert. I get it, the 48000 was the vert and the 44000 was the coupe. So still 44000*1.14=50160 which is still 12882 difference and a difference of 268.38/month that's almost 1/2 of my current payment! So I think that we got a good price, maybe not a great price but it was still a good price on the car. And again I highly doubt you could get 4 year 0% on a 2003 Cobra or 04 for that matter.

I know they cant void your warranty without reason ... but you dont think that if your rear end goes they arent gonna blame the gear change ? They will do everything possible to try to worm their way out of paying. And since you upped the overall driveline speed, they pretty much have you for anything power train wise now.

Well I really don't know exactly how this will all pan out. I know what the dealership told me when we said that we wanted to have this done if possible. They said, there will be no problem with warranty because they installed the gears. So I guess what's done is done and maybe I'll get screwed but then they're going to lose a customer if that happens.
