Seriously, ive had the stang for a week and the Ford problems have begun. I have a ridiculous rattle and it sounds like it is my dashboard. Could it be something loose in the dash becuase it sounds like a plastic rattle or something when i go over bumps or is it some part of the suspension? Its really annoying and it definitely isnt the typical dash rattle that Mustangs havecuz my 99 had that lol

Dunno what could be loose you cant see. I get a little dash rattle but I know where I can push on to stop it, and something in the back seat area sometimes makes some noise. Theres alot of plastic on our cars. I think its a Mustang thing along with the leather, lighting, etc. I would think suspension would be more of a metal sound or "CLUNK". At least thats all Ive known, well that and bushings making noise.

Just crank up the stereo!!

Only ONE rattle? Consider yourself lucky my friend...

Turn up stereo or get louder exhaust to fix

Try having someone go with you and see if they can maybe track down the noise as your driving.

Try emptying you glove box. People throw stuff in there and then start to wonder...where is that rattle?

Being a car audio person I am great at tracking down rattles.

If you find something that you think rattles. Take a thick peice of paper like a business card and fold it into a little thick square and stick if between the two panels that are rattling.

If the noise is gone then you can think of more permenant fixes.

My dash rattles adn I shoved a piece of paper above the AC vents and no more rattle!

I've got a couple rattles here and there, but nothing big.. just one rattle that sounds like it's behind the glove box, but it's more of a squeek imo. Only happens on the interstate/highways

Mine does some, but it's only for a little bit.. like, when i'm going out of the driveway/neighborhood. But once the car gets warmed up, it goes away

But that still doesnt get rid of that annoying squeek from the dash.. Guess that's why i turn my music up decently loud and roll with the windows down on the interstate

Mustang interiors suck. they are all plastic and not put together very well at all. My 2002 has so many freaking rattles, that if i thought about it too much, i would ram it into a brick wall

But... I love my car. I think Ford is cheap ass and could do a better job with their mustangs, and finally has with the 2005 model. Just learn to ignore it, turn up the stereo, get a louder exhaust, or get a M3. German cars are tight.

If you are under warranty, take it in, let the dealer look for it, if not, enjoy your car. BTW, 3 rattles that i know for sure on mine, are the long plastic vent insert for the windshield defrost slot. And the middle console A/C vent rattle, and the shifter boot plastic trim rattle. Check into those.

That's odd that so many of you guys have problems with rattles. My Stang is a 98' and has zero rattles or squeeks. Are you guys driving fast over rough roads and/or driving them in the winter?

I've heard that the wiper cowl can squeak at high speeds. Apparently the fix is to remove it and wrap the clips with a little electrical tape to prevent the metal to metal contact...

Could it be that your tranny mount is loose? I have heard of that causing a clunk...

It is the plastic cowling under the wiper blades. Very common.
