Dash Speakers simple ?

Ok Crutchfield is telling me that the biggest speaker that will fit in the dash of my 92 is a 1 7/16 speaker. I want to switch to some JL audio speakers but the mounting depth is 1 9/16. My question is what would have to be done in the dash to get them to fit? Thanks guys.

Are you talking about the dash speakers? They are 3-1/2" not 1 7/16". Are you measuring the depth?

It is a heater duct that runs through there. Its not a problem at all to push it down with the speaker or heat it up and move it / dimple it.
