Hey guys,

Yes I know, there's not enough wires involved to have an issue. But mine are hooked up according to the destructions and there seems to be a problem. I ran the pos & neg wires from fan to control and from control to battery. I stuck the temp probe in the radiator and plugged into the control. I plugged in the jumper for +14 degrees (194 deg) temp setting. These items are all correct. The only wires left are the blue wire to run to the AC, and the yellow wire that goes to any 12V source (switched if you desire). I did also install the jumper (on pins 13-14 I believe, don't remember, destructions are outside) to have the fan run at half speed when the AC is on.

With the car as stated above, I just wanted to start it tonight and see how it worked before deciding where I wanted the yellow wire ran permanently and before hooking up the blue wire to the AC at all. So the destructions say yellow to any 12V source, so I was hooking it to the battery cuz it's sitting right next to the control. When I touched it to the pos post, the fan started spinning slowly. Does anybody who has used one of these controls know if I'm overlooking something here? Obviously the fan should not be turning. Am I wrong in using the battery? It does say ANY 12V source. Could the half speed AC jumper be an issue? It was just about dark and I did not feel like fooling with it anymore tonight.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Cliff :)

Cliff;

The 13/14 is the underdrive jumper and will run the fan at 10% whenever the yellow is connected to 12V. It will also set the AC to 100% (The AC is 50% without the jumper.)

Most setups, even with underdrive pulleys, work well without having to use the U/D jumper. If you decide to use it, then you'll need to connect the yellow IGN input to a switched source.
