DD Rears....only certain cars can pull them off?

Just looking for some opinions. I'm going to get DD rears when I get all new rims in the spring, but I also see guys with V6's with the 10.5" 17" rears and 315's around here every once in a while. I feel moderately comfortable with DD rears on mine since it isn't the slowest car on the planet, but does everyone think that you have to have a certain car in order to pull it off? Or can you put them on ANY stang and have it be ok. It does attract attention and I just think you should be able to back up the looks with performance at least a little. What does everyone else think? I'm also bored so I just thought I would ask!

I've got 315 DR's on an almost entirely stock Mustang. I needed new tires, absolutely hate the stock snowflake wheels, and got a really good deal on the new wheels and rubber, so I got them. It's really all up to you, since it's your cash. I'm just preparing for the future. Personally, I say do it!

I have the DD bullits w/ 315's right now. I was thinking what you were thinking before I put them on. Would it be stupid for an almost stock stang to have the 315's . Once I got them on my opinion changed, they look badazz. I have only gotten compliments. The new edges may not be that quick stock, but IMO quick enough to pull off the 315's. Remember it is a muscle car that can keep up with a lot of the classic muscle cars. Wider tires in the back is a must for a muscle car IMO.

IMO 315's should never be an appearance mod like suspension has become. But that's just me, it's your stang - and it's not like it will look bad.

Oh yeah...I'm doing it I was just asking everyone if they thought you had to have a certain car/mods to pull them off. Just a debate, thats all.

i wouldn't say preset mods required, but if you cant hook in 2nd w/ 9 inch wheels and good tires, then i'd say 315's are for you

I'm going with 10" wide 18" rims in the rear with 295's so they will not be crazy wide. I'm guessing they will hook just fine

IMO, you don't need certain mods. Having a lowered car helps a bit. Mine has an added mean factor with the cams that scares off some people though

I think that some cars NEED lowering springs... take my new one for example, I bought springs before I even had the car for looks, cause I could fit a Toyota Echo in the wheelwells...

as far as the deepdish rims. It's style, not all cars NEED wide tires, but they do look better with them... and if it's their $$, why not? It keeps the aftermarket growing.

The more people who buy the stuff (whether they need it or not) the cheaper things will get for the rest of us...

Just my 2cents.

only few cars can pull off the DD rear look, mustangs are one of them just because of how the DD lip changes the entire overall stance.

Its both a apperance and performance mod by going wide in the rear. It looks badass and gives you more available traction to boot. its a win-win situation.
