Debating on what brand X-pipe to buy?

Hey, I desperatly want to get rid of my h-pipe for an x-pipe but do not know what brand to buy. I really dont want to pay $300 for bassani, but I will if need be. How are Magnaflow, UPR, BBk, and other brands. I also do not want Dr. Gas, I do not want to have to weld. What do you guys suggest?

I bought a MAC X-pipe. It's not worth the hassle.

Dr gas and Magnaflow are the top dawgs. Dr Gas you have to weld, where did you come up with that one?

Bassani and BBK are close runners up.

do u want to run cats or not? X pipes without cats will be cheaper but if you have emisson tests then u have to swap with one with cats when the time comes. I picked up a Bassani X with cats and love it, it fit with no problem with the ford racing headers that i also have and its all stainless steel. if you want it with cats i did my research and found that the bbk and other brands are a bit cheaper then the Bassani but not by much.

I'd avoid the BBK pipe with cats. I installed a BBK H-pipe with cats and the cats crapped out within a year, all broken up and rattling inside. I guess you can say I'm not passing emissions anymore....

im happy with my bassani, had it on the car since 99, cats havent blown out. fit was excellent.

I've been thinking about this lately also. Anyone know the cheapest place to get one from? Looking for o/r X, i also heard you should weld the DR Gas because it comes in like 6 pieces

OMG you guys are killing me with this Dr Gas welding thing. Go to the site and check it out before you start talking about the product at least.

The ones you weld are the universal kits, not the mustang kits! And for having cats, Magnaflow (Car Sound ) makes the best quality cat convertors around and they come in the x pipe. If you dont want an O/R pipe, go for Magnaflow for sures.

Good to know. I am buying a Bassani Y pipe for my Bronco with the cats.

You don't have to weld the dr. gas setup for short tubes, but you DO have to weld the dr. gas setup for long tubes.

I actually just got a dr gas x pipe for bbk shorties and I did have to weld it. Also it was not the sound I was looking for, anyone intreseted in this, it has 30 miles on it currently.

I had a bassani on my 99 and it was nice. I just recently put a UPR X-pipe on my 88. Much better fit than the BBK H-pipe that I had been running.

you definelty need to weld the dr.gas xpipe for longtubes, i got mine in a box in about 10-15 pieces and it was a pita....but the sound is worth in imo...Sounds BAD!!!!

Pay the man and get Bassani. Fit is excellent. Goes on fast. The welds are beautiful. It's really a work of art. I got the catted X and I love it. It does cost more, but you will be hard pressed to find a Bassani owner who would even consider buying anything else. You can't say that for any of the others.

I have the Dr. Gas with longtubes, and it is nice. Sounds throaty. You could always have a muffler shop weld it.

No it does not need welding. They have the best quailty and make the most HP. Stainless x-pipe for $220. I have tested these on the Dyno against Bassani and they made 10-12 more HP than Bassani. The best for the money by far.
