What's up guys, I'm new to the site, just got a black 95 mustang gt .. I love it so much its in mint condition inside and out.. my only complaint is the audio.. I've got a dual mp3 player head unit which isn't too bad, does the job, but the speakers just don't give me what I'm looking for.
Now forgive me for the n00b questions, I actually did a search but couldn't find much, so what would be the best replacement for the stock speakers, I dont want major bass [yet] just some decent pounding speakers to improve on the stock stereo.. also, what sizes are all the speakers in the mustang -- I unfortunately dont have the mach460 =\

thanks for all your help guys, ill enjoy being a part of the stangnet community and hopefully ill get some pics up soon <3

[edit] money is kinda key too.. ima po folk now that I just got a new mustang lol

hello and welcome. your stock speakers are 6x8.
i swapped my stocks for Boston Acoustics NX/7 5x7's and they kick major ass!
a friend of mine has infinity kappa 5x7's in his 02gt and they sound pretty good. both speakers sound 10x better than stock. both can be had for approx. $150/pair and well worth it.

I have used a lot of different brands of speakers, and in my last 2 cars, I have used the same type of speakers for a reason, they sound the best. Infinity kappa speakers are, in my opinion, the best buy for the money. You can get them really cheap if you know what you are doing. Go to www.etronics.com and look for the speakers you want (infinity or other) and then once you find what you want, go over to www.sounddomain.com and look for the same set of speakers. www.sounddomain.com does 105% pricematching, and they have great customer service and return policy. All you need to do is fill out a little form on www.sounddomain.com's website and then you can get the speakers for the price they were at etronics.com, and then 5% cheaper. I did this with my stang, and got 2 sets of infinity kappas for like 200 total.

If you can afford a little amp (around maybe 100 dollars)...get these

http://www.thezeb.com/detail.aspx?ID=1083

If not...get these

For the money, nothing can touch CDT. (IMO)

well i realized im working this week so ill have some more money comin in, but another question came up -- i entered my car on soundomain er the cardomain store whatever theyre calling it, and it said i should have rear 6-1/2"s? im thinkin thats wrong, alls i know of without the mach system [which mine doesnt have] is the 5x7s in the doors and 5x7s in the back.. the second question - i was looking on the rear deck and next to where the speakers are currently, it looks like theres spots where more speakers could potentially go? anyone know if theyre there for a reason or what

thx for the links everyone and i hadnt heard of cdt, probably wouldnt of checked em out if you hadnt said that

I was thinkin those might be good enough for now .. are there any sites out there that let you buy an amp, sub, and box together relatively cheap? i actually thought about buying one of those powered bazooka tubes, but 100w isnt quite enough hit lol
