im having a torque converter built by PTC and im about to turn in my spec sheet, i told the guy today when i dropped it off that i had to come back and get some info for him and id just email him it. ok so ive got it all filled out with the exception of rear gear, i currently have 3.73s...but have been thinkin about 4.10s. I hate this in the fact of, if i turn it in with 3.73s....that maybe if i would have put 4.10s and regeared during all this it would be tons better in the final product. now dont get me wrong i like the 3.73s, especially in the mid to top range, but to be honest the low end grunt isnt there. i have a freind with a notch with an aod and 4.10s, he doesnt have half of the mods i do and his feels so much faster and i love it. anyways i was told i had to make a decision on this because if i regear after they have made the tc, it could very well cause adverse effects.
so, here it is, the short of it. ud pullies, mac cai, 77mm pro-m, 65mm eddy t-body, explorer intake, gt-40 irons massaged a little, ecam, 1.6 rr's, hooker Lts, o/r H, dual 40s out the back. 14* timing. AOD with a 2400 stall, transgo HP kit. in a 3900lb truck with a wheel base about 8-3/4" shorter than a fox.
help me decide please. ive read about 10 other threads on this little debate, the only reason im askin this now is that i need a few answers that pertain to MY PARTICULAR issue instead of say a stock motor etc. etc. it might see the highway once a week otherwise its city duty. i couldnt give a flying **** about gas mileage either. just help me justify one way or another. thanks
