alright...i have about $1600 give or take and i just went to a install shop and he gave me a list of prices...but im in the air on what installs i want to get for $1600...well heres the list...

magnaflow catback w/ 3.5" tips....... $525 installed
kenny brown extreme matrix system......$550 installed
4.10's......$532 installed
MAC cold air kit + accufab trottlebody.....$474.50 installed
upper/lower control arms......$440 installed
pully kit......$300 installed
dyno tuned diablo chip.....$645 installed and dynoed

the magnaflow catback is one of the installs...but im up in the air on the other installs...i was thinking maybe catback then the KB system and UCA's/LCA's or the catback then KB system and 4.10's...what to do, what to do?!?! any advice though?

What's up O? I live in Indy also.

a) Who's doing this exhaust? Good price, good first mod.
b) There is a guy in Indy who can do the gears for much cheaper. The labor would be $250, parts depends on how cheap you find em...should be under 200. He's awesome, very good work.
c) we have the same car!! 2000 Laser Red GT (mine's a vert) PM me sometime soon.

its up at full throttle performance. where at in indy? im on the west side...and where is that place that does gears around indy? and also what kinda prices would you expect to get the jobs done for each mod if they seem pricey?

and this is basically what he wrote down on the estimates...

magnaflows..........parts 425 labor 100
KB's........parts 300 labor 250
4.10s.........parts 232 labor 300
MAC CAI & accufab t-body............parts 404.50 labor 70
UCA's/LCA's........parts 290 labor 150
pullies........parts 200 labor 100
dyno tuned diablo chip.......parts 445 labor 200

Skip the catback exhaust. Not much for performance gains. Go with the 4.10s ($532); this is the best first improvement. You will also need a chip to recalibrate the speedometer. Even though it's not listed, go with an o/r x-pipe; good for 8-10 rwhp. Skip the MAC cold air kit and go with a K & N airfilter and Accufab 75 mm tb/plenum; this should give you an additional 8-10 rwhp. You can save yourself some money and do these intake mods yourself.

go find another shop, my magnaflow catback was 350 and I installed it myself, I've heard of it going for 320 now. The install took me about 5 hours on jack stands not really knowing how to do it. That means theyre charging you almost 200 for the install. A mechanic at my local ford dealer told me 225 installed for used gears(325 for new). I paid the same mechanic 60 bucks to install my pulleys and timing adjuster( I bought both used for 150). If you buy the pulleys at 150 that means 150 for the install? wtf it only takes an hour. Your shop is trying to rape you beware.

i feel i need to get the cat back for the sound...i was going to get pipes along w/ headers so i probably wont get pipes yet. and also partshopper sells the magnaflow cat back for 437 and thats about how much this shop is selling them for. and the matrix kit seems to have the same price everywhere else for parts. now the gears seem like 60 bucks more, but i havent checked the other parts....

Do a search for exhaust and you will find it just over $300.

One place is Full Line Exhaust you have to call to get a great price as they probably can't advertise something that low. Mine was $340 shipped to CA.

I'd skip the Kenny Brown stuff and go with Global West SFC's with the 4-tube rocker rail support. The SFC are tubular which offer all the benefits of rectangular stock, but with increased torsional rigidity (ever see a rectangular roll bar??). Not much of a price differnce between the two either.

You can check the Global West SFC's on my car by using the link in my signature.

whats the difference between magnaflows and magnapacks? sound difference? and should i just do all the installing myself besides gears and welding the suspension...ex: catback, and later upgrades like throttle body and pullies? i dont have any experience on installing parts on cars, but i think im a handy guy and could handle some installs...well help me out w/ some advice!

the guy said i should wait on the x pipe until i want to do headers...then just do them both at the same time b/c of restriction issues...and i dont want to just buy headers/pipes/cat back b/c i wanna have some money left over for gears and suspension work...i figured getting those magnapacks (to make my car sound nice), getting 4.10s (to bring out life from my car), then getting that kenny brown extreme matrix kit (to acquire some handling for all this newfound power my car is getting and will get in the future)...

then...when i get another 1600 dollars together get UCAs/LCAs, pullies, and a diablo chip + a dyno tune to take full advantage of the chip...

then the next upgrades will be CAI, throttlebody, and possibly pipes & headers if i have enough money saved up...but until then...anybody have any ideas on what kinda numbers ill be throwing up at the track and on the dyno?!?

Get the catback, gears and a speed cal or handheld tuner (SCT or Diablo) to, at least, correct the speedo + get a little more power. This can also help you as you add mods.
This is a good start, and is exactly what I started with. You'll have better acceleration and sound better.
Don't bother with a TB unless you are swapping the plenum as well...and even then it's only about a 4-8 RWHP gain.

yea i was gonna put the the air intake at the bottom of my list. but you dont think i should invest in some suspension work before a diablo chip? i figured that kenny brown extreme matrix kit would help w/ the new found power from the gears and catback (even though the catback doesnt help to much other than the sound)...any other advice?!
