Yea, I would love to be rich enough for that to be an option. Unfortunately for me, I don't even know a silver spoon.

UPDATE: Answer to the Question "Why was half the Quater panel covered in the primer pic?" (the 12/3/2010 pic in post 9 above).
Answer: They had it covered to protect it from the wielding. Hence the different shade of primer in the uncovered spots. Apparently they cared more for the quarter panel than they did my seats.

yeah. its just a shame that body shops don't seem to take care of people's cars like they should. its all smiles and sure's at the door but once they got your car done they dont want to touch it anymore.

Sorry to hear about the damage and the lack of care to the interior during/after repair. I do love that Blue color though....

Sell it? not now. Only made 1 payment. Besides, the engine is still just what it was. I just can't bring myself to part with it. And the body shop is going to look at it Monday. I also found the rubber seal all outta whack today around the Driver's side door. Can't believe these people.

in a year or 2,you will probably start noticing RUST where they were suppose to weld. or worse yet, maybe something you cant see.. I just hit a deer also in my 03 mach1. 8-point at 80mph,destroyed the whole front end.we are rebuilding ourselves since the car just hit 47,100 miles.thank god I know people with extensive knowledge to help rebuild for a lot cheaper than a shop.this way,I get OEM parts instead of "like oem" that insurance companies authorize.

I feel your pain

Just found this thread and thought I would share my own repair saga. I too have a kona blue 2011 gt. Bought it on July 17. Got hit on Sep 23. Damaged parts include:
  • hood
  • windshield
  • drivers door
  • both fenders
  • left inner fender
  • fender apron
  • and the other stuff as you can see

It has been repaired and reassembled now. But when the airbag light still would not go off they had to take it to the dealership. After two days. I was told the occupancy safety module was bad. It is on national backorder until March 21 2011!

Looks like they did a great job with repair on your car. Its sad they couldn't clean up after themselves. Who did you take it to by the way?

March 2011 - that is complete BS.
In cases like this since the part is avaialble at the factory (they are still building cars !) then they have arrangements to get those parts from the factory directly instead of the service division. In this case I think the sensor is part of the seat assembly and comes fully assembled to the seat (I believe Lear is the seat supplier), in that case Lear has the sensors and can be obtained from there.
How do they expect you to drive the car until then.
I would be touch with the service director at your dealership - March 2011 that is unbelievable.

That's exactly what I thought!

You are correct it is complete BS and it is part of the seat cushion and can only be ordered that way. I have been on the phone with Ford this morning and they have turned it over to the "next level". Won't hear anything back until probably Tuesday though. Thanks for the info on the manufacturer. I'll keep you posted on my progress/digress.

I can't drive the car because of liability issues. Also its waiting for a "restraint control module" which is also backordered till Jan 12. I wonder if a 2010 has the same part? It has a completely different part number but that may not mean anything.

Restraints control module is installed at Flatrock, they should be able to easily get one of those, then the occupant sensor is zeroed out and locked into the RCM, you may not even need the occupant sensor, first step is change the RCM, then worry about the occupancy sensor if it still has problems.

Tanjima,

Thank you very much for this information. Everything I have described is info that was received from the dealership service dept. I am going to contact them and see what they say. Thanks again.

I took it to Alexander Toyota Collision Center in Franklin TN. Of course Now, after running it through a quick car wash to get the salt off, I have water coming in at the Driver side Seat belt mount. GRRRR!!!!

I have a boat load of wind noise as well, which means they didn't do the seal around the door right. They're supposed to take it back for a day and check all this out, but I doubt they'll ever get it right.

Had to take it to a "Certified" Body shop, and that was the only one close to where I work. If they don't get this fixed the next time I take it to them, I'm going to demand another shop look this car over or a complete replacement car due to their complete incompetence.
