SO....
How are you guys doing for motivation?
It's all I can do to go to the shop some nights.
With so much to do, I'm lost at where to start!

On another note... who would be up for hitting some detroit area cruise spots from time to time? do you guys have a favorite hang out?

Hey guys, i need to get my hands on a 351w block really quick. Just need the block itself. Would love to get the older 69-71 or so block, but anything will really do. Any ideas on where to get one?

Let me know

Hey all

Hey guys, looks like you've all been busy while I've been poor/gone. Decided my house was'nt as important as my car so I put it up for sale. Gonna be looking for a condo I think so I won't be doing anymore mechanic work. At least nothing to major.

So I pulled my car out of the garage, Actually pushed it because the battery is shot and got it started. Fired right up, not bad since it has'nt run since last august. Did a nice smokey line lock burnout in the drive way too That felt good. Once my house is gone Ive gotta buy another trailer (Had to sell my old one), and Ill be back in business. Should even be at the cruise this year.

Nate, whats wrong with the motor? Why do you need a new block??? I hope that you didnt make it look like the old one.

Well talk again soon guys,

Dale

My mustang was born in Detroit

I've been looking at getting another stang and there's this one in Detroit. So If I buy her, I was wondering If Ford gives a tour of the factory since I'll be in detroit.

Ford does not give tours of the plants. The only one that does is the Dearborn Truck plant where they build the F150s. If you have a friend that works for Ford, sometimes they can get you in to wander around. Ive taken a few people to my plant so they can see where it all happens I work at the Expedition and Navigator plant. If you buy a new Mustang you might be able to arrange a tour to watch it get built. Ive got a lot of friends at the Auto Alliance plant where the Mustangs are built.

Well the only thing that is wrong is on a couple cylinders whoever rebuilt it before took a ridge reamer to it and did some good damage. With the new pistons the top ring will hit this point. So basically the cross section of the cylinder is a V at the top SO im not about to dump cash into this thing and have it work against itself.

So i've been on the hunt for another block. Looking to get a 69-74....went through 2 74's before i found a good one(crossing fingers on the magnaflux tomorrow) so hopefully this one will get the show onthe road.

I drove by and saw the for sale sign. Any idea on location for your next place?

Damn its not boreable??? Is that why you lost compression??

I have no idea where I am going to move. I want a Condo but I think I am going to get an apartment for a year so I can save money and see what kind of shape Fords gonna be in next year.

Nice to have you back Dale. Anybody seen or heard from GTJAY? I might have to call the fugger.

My Stang is finally about to go in for the 31 spline setup and suspension work when the salt washes away. I still have to buy tires for my new wheels though. Damn tirerack has them on backorder.

Well the bores itself are good. Its just the top of the cylinders that are screwed up. Maybe it would be "better" at .040 or .060 over or something, but still, thats money down the drain if it doesnt turn out in my favor. Also, i had ordered the stroker kit for .030 cause we initially thought it would work, then comparing the new pistons with the bores, its iffy. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Plus now i have the older and much stronger block compared to the 78.

Be sure to keep in touch man

Anybody in the Detroit area have 2.5" polished tailpipes I could use for my 87 LX? Dumping my flowmasters is a little bit too loud....

Thanks man, its good to be back. I took my car out for a ride today around the block, I forgot how much fun it was to drive.

I talked to Jay last week, the bum spent all his money on his snowmobile so the mustang is gonna be on the shelf this year

I just got my new Kirkey aluminum seat put in my car today, a friend of mine is a fabricator and made me a slick bracket set up. So now that Im using the race seat my car is about 1000 times more comfortable with the roll cage. I gained alot of room back that I lost with the thin seat. Not to mention you sit alot lower in it now so my helmet wont wear a hole in my headliner heh.

Im laid off for the next two weeks, We should call Jay and go out drinking this week.
