You ever drive a Fox Mustang with SLA and you may get a second job. My buddy had two one with a Griggs setup and the other with an Agent 47 (now out of business) and they were both hands down better than the stock McPherson setup they came with and even the aftermarket McPherson setup like the MM on my Coupe. Also allows for a wider wheel up front as the rim and tire no longer hit the strut. You eventually get into the tire hitting the front subframe but rack limiters help.

Anyhow just thought the way they did it to increase the UCA length was pretty cool.

I think we are seeing more of them because of Coyote swaps.

No strut towers required.
Or Big Block swaps.
Hell, I like the no strut tower idea even for my SBF racecar.
Headers would be much easier to service, spark plug access with 2" primary headers.
Lots of ways getting rid of the strut towers could be beneficial.
I wonder if there is a weight change.
If it is lighter than a conventional coil over front suspension, I would give it a hard look.

BTW, with a racecar, you never justify the cost.
Lol. I am strictly speaking for myself.
If you are hung up on cost, then maybe don't have a racecar. :spot:

True, and I can barely keep a street car running.

I wonder how this one compares to the Ridetech option. Did I read that this had a 13" shock as opposed to the 8" Ridetech? Also curious about the longer upper arm on the Detroit Speed vs. the Ridetech.

I'm starting to think these SLA kits and full chassis setups are designed for race cars and the kindig-it crowd.
I followed that griggs link and built a setup which i'll assume is what street drivers need or want and it was just over $7000.
I just don't know how many DIY guys that don't have unlimited budgets are going to be willing to spend 7 grand on the front suspension alone.
To be clear, i do think it's awesome, but at the same time when you use a MM setup you can literally buy one part at a time, so you can spread the financial pain out over years.

That is the advantage of the McPherson setup. I will tell you that the SLA setup is way better in just about every other aspect. I haven’t gone to one being MM has not offered one or I would sell my entire front setup and move to it.

Who knows if MM will ever do it, but if they do, i hope it's a little more like the detroit speed than Griggs.
The complexity of the Griggs looks like a real pain and they call it daily driver worthy, but i can't see all those adjustable joints would make it good for driving every day.

With that said, while ridiculously expensive their sway bar may be what i could use to replace the 95+bar i currently use. Doesn't look like it exceeds the width of the frame rails by too much since there is no bend.
