from what i understand about the Preditor, it only lets you make minor adjustments. like only + or - 10% in timing instead of actually displaying and allowing you to alter the actual timing in degrees.

the SCT kit i have allows me to change ANYTHING i want and know where it's at. if i want 18* of timing, it's just a few clicks away.

There is a lot wrong with this! Compare apples to apples.

First, a good SCT Dealer can get you very close to perfect with any mod combination with the file they build for your car via chip or hand held tuner.

With the Extreme Tuner package and XCalibrator hand held tuner, you do not have the ability to data log, clear codes or tune without a PC/Laptop.

With the Extreme Tuner package and SCT 9100 hand held tuner, you can clear codes but cannot data log or tune without a PC/Laptop.

With the Extreme Tuner package and XCalibrator 2 hand held tuner, you won't be able to tune without a PC/Laptop.

Comparing the Extreme Tuner Software package with the 9100 or XCal 2, the SCT hand held tuner is far superior to Diablo hand held. It gives you a lot more flexibility than what you can do with Diablo. Change your MAF and with the extreme tuner software, you can do it yourself. With Diablo, you have to download the file.

The pro racer package is a step up yet from the Extreme Tuner package. Tuning the 2005 Mustang is the perfect example for comparison. Why is Diablo having so many problems with their tuning of it? The SCT dealers I know of are not having any issues and are finding power.

Read my post again. I was talking about the Predator and the Xcalibrator. I said they both do similar things (on a basic level). Minor adjustability. However one of the two handheld units gives you a few more features. I didn't say you can data log with both tools.

Is the Xcal 2 even available yet? Maybe we can compare that to the Predator 2.

The Extreme Tune software that was released with the Xcal (1) was obviously rushed. I downloaded it and played with it. So not impressed. Check the biggest SCT fan club forum Modular Depot, a website sponsored by SCT. I saw more negative feedback on the Extreme Tune software than positive ones.

To those looking to try it out, the Extreme Tune software is a free download. Check it out and form your own opinion. You might be more impressed than I was.

Bottom line: Decide on what you need first. If you're looking for basic end-user tweaks (gears, MIL, timing, a/f ratio, rev limits, etc.) either tool will suffice. Compare feature by feature and prices, then make your choice. If you are looking for a tool to load a professional tune, pick a reputable tuner (the person or shop), and go with the tool that they support. Preferrably a shop near you so you can visit them in person. If you are looking at doing pro-level tuning yourself, you have a lot more research to do than what this thread can provide.

I read your post there was some things very wrong with it.

I am using the Extreme Software on my car and have used it on other cars. I have also used the Predator. I would never consider the Predator for my own car. You can not change as much with the predator as you can with the Extreme Tuner software.

May 15th is the official release date of the Excalibrator 2.

Keep Dreaming, this might and that is a big might compare to the SCT PRP. Something SCT has had out for well over a year.
