well ive spent lots of time comparing to other tuners and for an Auto i think this is the one im best of with.
ive heard lots of good info from many users about the capibilities and such.
but on a stock car (currently ordered exhaust, and gears will be soon) how much hp and tq can i really gain from a tuner.
im going to need for exhaust (h-pipe), and gears but there are other option (speedcal, MILs,etc.) which actually come out cheaper.

i know there have been many post about the tuner but i havent seen any actual numbers..and of course the manufactur claims real high number?

so what kindof increase did u guys see on stock/ slightly modified 99-04 GT's

the tuner on a stock car will make little to no difference for HP numbers. for an auto it makes a good deal more sense though. for gears you will need a ecu flash to change the speedo (~100) and the mils are another 50. these just fix the immediate issues. with the preditor you are able to change rpm shift points as well as how the trany shifts (speed and regidity). this alone is reason for some to spend the extra money, maybe for you too? it comes down to more of little things until you start to actually do mods to the car. once you have a full exhaust and maybe get a plenum, and a timing adjuster you could add another 20 hp or so between the timing and adjusting the A/F ratio on the peditor. this can make a fairly large difference when it comes down to it, and considering you can get new tunes downloaded from diablo to match your gear i think its very worthwhile.

think about it this way... a preditor is around 300. you HAVE to get mils and a ecu flash for the gears, that is a manditory 150. think of the preditor as only costing 150 as a "mod" purchase as the 150 is a manditory purchase.

another way to look at it is that the preditor can add 1-2 hp more for every mod you do (optimizing the ecu for each new mod). its nothing big on its own, but it stretches everything you currently have.

yea thats a good way of putting it. althought the H-pipe i bought came with 02 extenders and MIL eliminators i prolly could get alittle bit for those if were to sell them.

*shameless plug*
on the dyno I picked up 8hp and 15tq with cmr/diablo tune yesterday 231hp &273tq on a dynojet, I'd say their stuff is good. only bolt on is 3 chamber flowmasters=nothing. Like someone else said you can optimize for every mod added.

I use a cmr/diablosprt chip and I love it. It will work on a 97, and cmr dealer can tune your chip on site. or if you live in sct territory same there

why would you buy a timing adjuster with a diablo? You can adjust the timing with the tuner. On an Auto it makes perfect sense. Dont expect more than 7 ponies though and maybe 10is in the torque area, but it will feel like so much more with your shift points modified.

I gained 13 HP and 12 TQ with my Predator after dialing it in on 6 Dyno pulls on a Mustang Dyno. They took out quite a bit of timing, but my Mach responded well to it, adding about 2 HP with each adjustment. The Predator is worth it to me.
