Has anyone used a Diablo chip or tuner on their saleen? I thought I read somewhere that SCT was the only chip that would over-ride the saleen powerflash tune.

Both Diablo and SCT are flash tunes. They will override the Saleen tune.

I had the Diablo on my last Saleen. It would not override the Saleen tune. I had to take my Saleen to a Ford dealer and have the Saleen program flashed back to stock before I could start using the Diablo. The SCT tuner does override the Saleen tune and stores it if you ever want to go back to it.

Justin is correct. You have to essentially throw away your Saleen tune to use the Predator (must reflash with GT tune). The SCT will store the tune on the device in case you need to return the car to stock for whatever reason.
Also, the XCal II will allow you to store up to 3 tunes on the device at once which comes in handy all the time. I have three tunes on my device for various octane ratings and timing combinations, so that no matter what gas I have to run in my car, it is always optimal and safe.

I have the Diablo Revolution Chip on my Saleen. It works very well with the Saleen Power Flash.

I have had both and I really recommend the SCT. You can do some many more things with it. Most places use the SCT softare over the Diablo now. The Diablo is fine if you are non-supercharged.

I am keeping the SCT chip just in case I want to go back to the other tuner. From speaking to him on the phone it sounds good though. He said I was at like 405 rwhp on my pump gas tune and 430-440 on my race tune.He couldn't remember the TQ.I hope to go pick it up today or tomorrow.

I should clarify that my experience and what I am referring to are with the handheld tuners (SCT XCal II, and the Predator). I cannot speak to how the actual aftermarket chips perform. The chips themselves may or may not be able to work with/retain the stock Saleen tunes, but only the SCT Xcal II handhelp programmer can store and then return a car to a stock Saleen flash.
Now, there are chips out there that have anywhere from 1-4 banks that can store an array of tunes and can be swapped with the flick of a switch or push of a button. However, if you still want to be able to move tunes on and off of the banks you still need a handheld programmer or you will have to take your car to a tuner everytime you need tuning done (regardless of how minor your adjustments may be). Again, in an instance such as I just mentionded, SCT is the best choice IMO.
You really can't go wrong with a SCT chip and tuner - that's the golden set-up!
