Did Chicane in Torrance go out of business?

Well i heard that the main mechanic got in an argument with the owner or something and left. He was the owned for a 99+ saleen. At the knotts auto show he didnt have any chicane logos i think he did leave or something.

I have talked to Joe Grosinsky the owner about once a month for the last 8 months. He was gonna install my 306 and other items. If the main mechanic got into an argument I am sure he could find a new mechanic. I called my friend at Coast High Performance and he said he hasen't heard any news on Chicane but he gave me 3 phone numbers of 3 guys in my area that work out of their homes and garages. One guy I called was totally cool and said he would do the swap for $1000. I was stoked, I think I am going to give him $1500 up front so he does an excellent job.

I drove by 2 days in a row this week and it looked empty, and a few signs were taken down but there was the distinctive Saleen sign still up. I called 2 days in a row and no one answered. I will check back today.

Renee is the mechanic that left Chicane. He also owns the white Saleen. I talked to him at Knotts. He said he was leaving to pursue other goals in life(new degree and career) He is still going to work on cars on the side.

I also talked to Joe Grosinsky at the Knotts, and he said all is going well. I can't imagine much has changed in a few weeks.

Did you go by on a Sunday? :D

I have Joes cell, I'll find out an answer for you guys.

That would be great if you could call Joe. I drove by 2 days in a row and called the 3rd day and still got no answer. I was planning on Joe to install my 306 and then having Power train Dynamics in Huntington do the final tune. If they are closed I heard Swansens Performance (Danny Swansen) is a good alternative in Torrance.

I talked to Eric at Knotts about doing a removeable top for my car. He seemed very cool, just haven't been to his shop yet.

As for Chicane, I was ther the other day. They haven't closed anytime lately. Dunno
