Did I break my GAS PEDAL? Help!!

Tonight I stabbed the gas going into 3rd and I heard a loud snap,
like plastic break. I dont know if it was like that before but there is lots
of play in the pedal now if I pull up on it. The gas pedal use to feel
pretty stiff and sort of difficult to go WOT. Now its not as hard to press in.
WTF, Did I break something. Now I'm having second thoughts if its even
going full throttle but that may be my head. It still runs good.

Any help would be appreciated.

I tried and cannot tell.
The cable has about an inch play in it at the top of the pedal.

yeah look underneath and see whats going on. I broke my pedal off where the plastic meets the metal. I just felt it snap and reached down there and picked it up. If thatz what happend youll have to buy a whole new ass. the ford place wanted like 60.00 bucks so i went to a junk yard and paid 20.00 for it.

Is the inch of play when you pull the pedal all the way towards the seat.. or just when its sittin in its normall spot?

Its when I pull it towards the seat. It feels lose and kinda dangling there.
I mean it sits in the right place, but I can lift it up and tilt it very easily
front to back.

I think thatz pretty normall.. im not sure where the pop came from.

My pedal broke where the plastic attaches to the metal pin. Under warrenty and the dealer replaced it.

My pedal broke off too, the dealership said it wasn't under warranty....
